April seas

today was going slow, but as the cars pulled through, i remembered the days we would drive to the shore. with your old gray truck, and our windows half down, i sat in your lap as we looked at the sea. though the April drives were so chilly and cold, we blasted the heat as we sat in the cab. with no one to speak to and no one to call all we had to do was stay, we would stay we would say through wind and rain, with four hands and two hearts we stayed happily still, it’s the truth we would say that theirs nothing to fear but a tear that will tare us apart. the road was our home but the sea was our place. to be free to feel and to search each ones eyes. we would stay we would say in our place at the sea, till the waves eat us whole and we drift off and be free. i look at these words and they’re not too far off. for when we did break, salty waters did come. both eyes swelled and it seemed to never have stopped because when i look at the sea all i can feel is the warmth of the heat in the cab and your hand at my side.
